16 Mar. The World Go Championship in Osaka!
We are pleased to inform you that the World Go Championship will be held in Osaka, Japan from 21 to 23 March 2017.
This is the first international go tournament in which the world class go players representing each country of Japan, China and Korea and a computer Go A.I. will compete each other.
The Nihon Ki-in sees that the development of Go AI will greatly contribute to the advancement of the skills of Go players. It will take this opportunity to hold “World Go Championship”, which will include a GO AI as a player, with the collaboration of Japan, China and Korea. Participating players include Yuta Iyama 9p who is a holder of six major titles in Japan, Mi Yu Ting 9p who won the qualifying competition in China, Park Jeong Hwan 9p, who is the No.1 player in Korea, and DeepZenGo (Go AI).
This Championship will decide who the best Go player in the world is through by a round-robin tournament. The winner will get 30 million Japanese Yen.
【 Rules 】
Time allowance: 3 hours
Even game with black giving 6.5 points komi with Japanese rules
When players have the same score of wins, tie-break games will be arranged.
