Iyama Yuta has become the youngest professional go player ever to win four of seven major titles (Kisei, Meijin, Honinbo, Tengen, Oza, Gosei and Judan). Now he holds Honinbo, Tengen, Gosei and Judan at the age of 23.
Iyama takes revenge for his failed defense of Meijin title against Yamashita in 2011.
The final game of 67th Honinbo title match was played on 18 and 19 July 2012 in Shizuoka. Iyama (W) defeated the defending title holder, Yamashita Keigo by 7.5 points and gets Honinbo title by 4-3.
Yamashita could not defend the title and now holds Meijin only.

Iyama Yuta wins his first Gosei title, defeating the defending title holder, Hane Naoki by 3-0. The third game of 37th Gosei title match was played in Nagaoka on 23 July 2012. Playing black, Iyama(B) won by resignation. Hane could not defend the title.

Cho Chikun who won Masters Cup 2011 and O Meien 9p will play for the 2nd Masters Cup final which will be held on 28 July 2012 at The Nihon Kiin.
