Hsieh Defends Women's Kisei!

  Hsieh Yi Min defends Women's Kisei title, defeating the challenger, Konishi Kazuko 8p by 2-0. The second game of the 18th Women's Kisei title match (best of three games) was played at `Ryusei Studio' in the Nihon Ki-in building on 29th January 2015. Taking black, Hsieh defeated Konishi by 5.5 points after 273 moves. (The second game will be seen on the program of Igo-Shogi Cable TV Channel in 15th February 2015.)
  She wins the Women's Kisei title for three years in a row.

The full results of the series are given as follows:
- Game 1 (22 Jan.): Hsieh (W) won by resignation
- Game 2 (29 Jan.): Hsieh (B) won by 5.5 points

Suzuki Ayumi to Challenge for Women's Meijin

  Suzuki Ayumi 6p earns the right to challenge for Women's Meijin title.
  She will play for a title match for the first time since 2008 and will play for the Women's Meijin title match for the first time.
  The defending champion is Hsieh Yi Min who has held the title for seven years in a row.
  The first game of the 27th Women's Meijin title match (three-match series) will be held on 4th March 2015.

Takao Wins 900 Games

  Takao Shinji (*current Tengen and Judan title holder) scored 900 wins at the youngest age (38 years old) and at the shortest term (23 year and 8 months), defeating Yamashita Keigo 9p by half a point in Meijin league tournament on 25th December 2014. He becomes the 21st player to win 900 official games (*against 385 losses) in pro tournaments.

The Nihon Ki-in Summer Go Camp 2015

  Please be informed that the Nihon Ki-in will host `Summer Go Camp 2015' from 21 August to 3 September. (The Summer Go Camp is an intensive training program for non-Japanese go players. So all of the lectures, workshops and events on the Summer Go Camp will be conducted in English.)
  This year you can choose one of the following courses: 'Full term', 'Semi-Full' and 'One Week course' to let more people attend our summer go camp in 2015.
